Checking The Weather Conditions

The Peak Walk is open year-round, from 9 AM to 4-5 PM, depending on the season. The lifts stay open longer in the summer, and it’s generally recommended that you do this as a summer activity.

Bad weather can mean limited access to the suspension bridge connecting the two mountain peaks, so I recommend planning this activity according to the weather forecast.

Of course, if it’s foggy, your views will be obstructed, and you won’t even be able to see just how impressive the feat you completed was. But clear skies and sunny weather promise excellent visibility even high up in the mountains, and they’re the perfect conditions for the Glacier 3000 Peak Walk.

Pro Tip: Check the webcam before you go up to ensure the perfect weather for your Glacier 3000 walk.

  • a walk on the suspension bridge between the peaks
  • access to the Tissot viewpoint
  • a ride in the ice express chairlift

The price is fair if you can get a discount, especially since many other activities are also included with the ticket. But the full-price tickets are not cheap, especially for groups of several adults.

How To Get To Glacier 3000 Peak Walk

glacier 3000
Glacier 3000

The Glacier 3000 Peak Walk can be accessed by public transport and personal vehicle. If you have a car, you can drive to Col du Pillon. The bottom station of the gondola transports passengers to the suspension bridge, and tickets for the Glacier 3000 will cover the gondola rides.

From Col du Pillon, you go to Cabane des Diablerets, where you can get in a cable car to take you to Scex Rouge where the peak walk is. If you are traveling by public transport in Switzerland, you should be able to take a bus from Les Diablerets to Col du Pillon.

Les Diablerets is serviced by train, but it is not always the simplest place to reach from major destinations like Geneva, Zurich or Bern. However, it could be a stopover on your way down from Interlaken to Montreux, if you are heading that way.
