BAD Weather in Zermatt & Southern Switzerland

Due to severe storms overnight in the Wallis region of Switzerland a number of areas are cut off and trains severely limited.

This affects ZERMATT which was reportedly without electricity yesterday night and the transport in the region (to and from Brig, and Zermatt)

Several villages in the Bernese Oberland have also been cut off from electricity.

Anyone planning a trip to the region over Easter is asked to delay by at least one day if possible to await the cleanup.

APRIL 18th UPDATE

Access to Zermatt appears to be improving with access shown on SBB being offered later in the day today
