If you are looking to get to Interlaken from Bern, there are a few options you have. You can go by train, which is always relaxing and easy. Or, you can drive yourself directly on the highway along Lake Thun.

By Train

There are two main train options from Bern to Interlaken, direct, or with a change in Spiez. Both take just over 50 minutes, but obviously, the direct route is simpler.

  • Bern – Interlaken Ost direct train takes 54 minutes and runs at 4 past every hour and alternates with the Spiez train at 34 past every other hour
  • Via Spiez runs at 34 past every other hour (alternating with the direct train)
