The Grand Hotel Kronenhof actually dates back to 1848 and through many renovations, it is the only 5-star hotel in Pontresina to my knowledge so if you are looking for a luxurious place to stay, this might be the hotel in Pontresina for you.
The hotel has a lovely location in the heart of the village and it actually backs onto its own grounds that lead to the beautiful River Flaz. It is peaceful and quiet, and you have insane views of the Alps which include glaciers, valleys, and the Bernina Range.
The hotel has a fully equipped spa with a range of wellness treatments on offer as well as saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and an indoor swimming pool for you to use.
You will also find two lovely restaurants and a bar at this hotel so you can have a lovely traditional Swiss meal or an international one along with a delicious cocktail or wine pairing whenever you feel like it.
There is also a gym, tennis court, library, and children’s playroom for you to use during your stay.
The rooms and suites are to die for as they are beautifully furnished and come with views of either the mountains or the village.

Hotel Walther
Hotel Walther first opened its doors to clients in the early 1900s and today is one of the top luxury hotels in Pontresina.
This is a 4-star hotel located on the southern end of the village where life is a little bit more peaceful but you are still within walking distance to most things, and there is a free shuttle service you can use also.
The views from this hotel are incredible. Mountain peaks in all directions along with glaciers and lots more and the hotel is an excellent base from which to explore them.
After a long day in the mountains or if you want a day off, the hotel spa has a range of treatments for you to choose from. There is also an indoor swimming pool and a sauna for you to use as you please.
The hotel is home to two great restaurants, one with international dishes and one that specializes in traditional Swiss cuisine from the region. There is also a lovely bar where you can relax with a drink after a long day.
To add to everything, there is also a gym, tennis court, and a library for you to use during your stay.
All the rooms and suites are impeccably furnished and come with a lovely view of the surrounding landscapes.
Overall this is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you want some luxury in a quieter part of town.
Hotel Saratz
Hotel Saratz is another excellent place to stay if you are looking for some luxury during your time in Pontresina. The hotel dates back to 1865 and has undergone many renovations over the years and its Art-Deco-style building dating from 1875 can still be seen today.
Hotel Saratz is a 4-star superior hotel that is right next to the Grand Hotel Kronenhof Hotel. This means it is in the heart of the village and backs onto forests, the river, and the mountains. The views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers are fantastic.
This hotel comes with a spa that you can use during your stay. Book a range of treatments, take a dip in the indoor pool, or go for a swim in the outdoor pool during the summer.
You will find two restaurants at this hotel with a mixture of dishes across international and Swiss cuisine. There is also a lovely bar for you to have a drink at after a long day of exploring.

Hotel Restaurant Rosatsch is a lovely 4-star hotel in the middle of Pontresina with forests, rivers, lakes, mountains, and glaciers in every direction.
Built in 1914, the hotel features stunning traditional Engadin architecture that has been maintained over the years through many renovations.
The views from the hotel are stunning and if you happen to book a room or a suite with a balcony or terrace, then you will have it all to yourself. The rooms and suites are all beautifully furnished, just some have better views than others.
There is a sauna, steam room, and swimming pool at the spa for you to use and you can choose treatments from a pretty large menu.

Hotel Steinbock
Hotel Steinbock is a lovely affordable hotel at the southern end of Pontresina. This is a quieter part of town and a great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet during your stay.
The views from the hotel are to die for and you can easily access all the great things Pontresina has to offer. It also dates back to 1855 and is in a historic, Engadine-style building so you are staying in a slice of history.
Being a 3-star hotel, it does not have a spa or a swimming pool but it will arrange wellness treatments and golf, and it has a tennis court you can use also.
There is a lovely restaurant and bar at the hotel too. The restaurant serves delicious traditional Swiss food as well as dishes from around the globe.
You can choose to stay in a room or a suit, all of which are very comfortable, and spacious, and come with all that you need for a wonderful stay.
Hotel Schweizerhof
Hotel Schweizerhof has been welcoming guests through its doors since 1896 and has been through many renovations along the way to keep up with the times.
It is a 3-star hotel in the middle of the village and you can choose to book from a range of rooms and suites during your stay. All of them are spacious, and comfortable, and come with all the modern additions one would expect.
Sitting in the village center, everything is within walking distance and the views of the alpine landscape are excellent.
While staying at this hotel, be sure to enjoy the lovely garden, terrace, plus the hotel restaurant and bar. The restaurant is a great place to try some Swiss delicacies and there are international dishes for those who want to stick with what they know.
Hotel Allegra
Hotel Allegra is another historical hotel in Pontresina, dating back to 1896. It is right in the heart of the village, surrounded by nature, and a great base to explore the area from.
Thai 3-star hotels have modern and comfortable rooms and suites for you to choose from and they all come with extras like free Wi-Fi, TV, private bathrooms, and more. Some have stunning mountain views too.
During your stay, be sure to admire the views from the garden and terrace, stop in at the hotel restaurant for some local dishes, and have a drink at the relaxing bar.
Hotel Garni Chesa Mulin
Hotel Garni Chesa Mulin is in the southern end of Pontresina. The peaceful and quiet location is lovely and the views of the mountain landscapes are very impressive.
This is a 3-star hotel so it is quite affordable and comes with some great facilities including a sauna, a garden, a terrace, and there is free parking available too.
All the rooms at the hotel are spacious, comfortable, and modern, and come with private bathrooms. Some even have an excellent mountain view.
There is no restaurant or bar at this hotel but there are lots to choose from within walking distance.
Gletscher-Hotel Morteratsch
Gletscher-Hotel Morteratsch is quite a special hotel as it is located at the foot of the Morteratsch Glacier and is connected to the Rhaetian Railway, but it is quite far away from Pontresina Village.
Staying at this hotel is unique, to say the least, and the views of the glacier with the mountain peaks are very hard to beat.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and all come with a private bathroom at this hotel. There is also an excellent restaurant at the hotel that is known for its amazing food, so be sure to dine at it.
Budget 3 Star Hotels
Chesa Muragls
Chesa Muragls is one of the most affordable places to stay in Pontresina. It is at the northern end of the village and is not actually a hotel but an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and more.
It is an ideal place to stay as a family or small group and you can save a lot of money by cooking in the kitchen instead of eating out.
The views from the apartment are also excellent and you are within walking distance of everything you need.
Curtins 16
Curtins 16 is another apartment you can rent in Pontresina and it is even more affordable than the one we looked at above. It is ideal for a solo traveler or couple as it has one bedroom and one bathroom.
Sitting in the middle of the village, everything is within walking distance and it is a great place to explore Pontresina especially if you are on a tight budget.
