La Muña Rooftop Restaurant

You will find the La Muña Rooftop Restaurant and Bar on the top of the La réserve Eden au Lac Zurich hotel. The La réserve Eden au Lac Zurich hotel couldn’t have a better location as it is right on the shore of Lake Zurich and its roof terrace is second to none.
Sitting on the 6th floor of the La réserve Eden au Lac Zurich hotel, the views from La Muña are hard to beat, featuring the lake, mountains, and the old town. The rooftop bar gazes across the lake and is styled to be like a ship, so you think you are literally sitting on a boat.
You can enjoy drinks at the rooftop bar from 5.30 pm onwards or book a super romantic dinner at the Asian fusion restaurant from 8 pm to 12 pm. The panoramic views are second to none and this rooftop terrace is super popular in the summer so be sure to book in advance.

Sonnenberg
If you are looking for stunning views and fine dining all in one, the Sonnenberg restaurant is an excellent choice. It is located on the outside of Zurich up on the hills which means it offers superb views across the city, lake, and into the alps.
Sonnenberg is an indoor fine dining restaurant in the winter but it opens the second-floor terrace when the weather warms up, offering a rooftop bar and restaurant combined.
The bar area is lovely and you can choose from a range of drinks including great cocktails and an extensive wine list. The food menu is exquisite and the restaurant serves up a modern twist of European and Swiss dishes.
If you are looking for a romantic spot to spend some time with your better half then their open-air terrace in the summer is very hard to beat. It is a very popular spot, so be sure to book in advance on their website. Retail hours are over lunch and the evening too!

Restaurant Sopra
Another of the great rooftops in the old town of Zurich is Restaurant Sopra which you will find on the fourth floor of the Jelmoli retail building on Bahnhofstrasse.
Sitting in the heart of the old town, you get one of the best rooftop views of the city but in order to truly appreciate it, you will want to sit outside on the terrace.
Sopra is open for both lunch and dinner, you can also just pop in for a coffee, cocktails, wine, and anything else that takes your fancy. The food is delicious and the restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine but they also invite chefs to take over now and then.

George Bar & Grill

George Bar & Grill sits right on the banks of the Sihl river in the old town of Zurich. This is one of the most established rooftop restaurants in Zurich and it is right in the heart of the city, making it great for lunch while exploring or dining in the evenings.
The rooftop is split into 4 zones including the dining room, bar, living room, and terrace. If you want some of the best views around, be sure to book your table out on the terrace in advance as this is one popular place.
As you might have guessed by the name, this place serves up delicious meat, which is farm fresh, and grilled to perfection. You can also order fish in the form of the catch of the day or simply enjoy their great drinks menu.
Their drinks include signature cocktails, wines, and lots more. The vibe here is pretty awesome and this is not a rooftop terrace you want to miss!

OOO Rooftop

OOO Rooftop sits in the heart of Zurich and is one of the trendiest rooftop bars in all of the city.
You will find this rooftop bar on the hippest street in Zurich, Bahnhofstrasse on the top floor of the Modissa retail store. It is the perfect place to grab a glass of wine and a light bite while shopping or for some evening drinks and delicious snacks after a long day of exploring.
The rooftop terrace offers great views of the city, especially Zurich downtown. The interior is to die for, the cocktails are off the charts, and the food is mouth-watering. Imagine Asian fusion tapas like dumplings, gyozas, duck, and more plus some awesome desserts.
This is also very popular in the summer months and is a great spot to go to with a partner if you are looking for a romantic spot for a cocktail to start your evening. And, it makes a great end-of-the-day stop on a walking tour of Zurich, as you end up right near the main station.

The Nest at Hotel Storchen

The Nest at Hotel Storchen is right on the banks of the Limmat River and is one of the rooftop establishments you can find in Zurich. The views of the river Limmat are excellent and you get a beautiful view over the city too!
The Nest is more of a lounge and a cool bar than anything else. The outdoor terrace is very stylish while the lounge is incredibly comfortable. Head to this spot for a big lunch, a light summer bite, or to try the excellent drinks including great beers, signature cocktails, wine, and champagne.
You shouldn’t need to book in advance to get a spot here but it might be a good idea in the busy summer months. And keep in mind that the Storchen only keeps this terrasse open in the warmer months, so it is generally closed from October to April.

Rigiblick Terrace

A beautiful place that you kind of have to go to while in Zurich is the Rigiblick Terrace. Situated on the outskirts of Zurich in the hills and located on the second floor of the Sorell Hotel Rigiblick, the views are astounding.
You should plan to be on the terrace for sunset drinks where you will see the sunset over the city and in the lake’s reflection, as it falls behind the alps. Follow this with an incredible fine dining experience afterward and you have a recipe for a magical evening.
The drinks and food are hard to beat at the Rigiblick and you will delight in seasonal delicacies that are locally sourced and sustainable.

Hiltl Dachterrasse
Hiltl Dachterrasse is also located just off the shopping street of Bahnhofstrasse, and there are so many rooftop bars in this area, you could go on a rooftop crawl on a Sunday night with ease.
What makes this rooftop spot so special is that it is the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world. This is not the original location, but it is still a part of it.
This is a wonderful place to have lunch while shopping in town or for a quiet coffee. You can also enjoy dinner and cocktails, plus the food is fantastic to boot.
The roof is landscaped into a garden, so the vibe is pretty special, and you have a good view of the city too. There is also an inside section where you can enjoy the spot during the colder months too.

Griederbar
You can also add Griederbar to the Bahnhofstrasse rooftop bar crawl if you want to, as it is right on the main street.
What makes Griederbar special, is that it is more of a rooftop garden with a bar and restaurant than anything else. It is open specifically during the shopping hours of Bahnhofstrasse and is the perfect place to relax after some shopping in the hectic streets and shops.
You can see a lovely view of the city and you will love hanging out in the comfy loungers surrounded by greenery. The food is all homemade and delicious, you can also accompany it with a cocktail, glass of fizz, wine, beer, and more.

Haute
Haute is probably the most exclusive rooftop restaurant and bar in Zurich, and that is saying something. This is a members-only spot that takes up the top two floors of the Hochhaus zur Schanze building in Zurich’s center, but you can call and ask to book a table as a non-member.
The views from Haute are hard to beat. You tower over the city while looking across the lake and into the alps. The sunset here is incredible so try to book a table for then.
You can choose to hang out at the indoor lounge on the lower floor, the open-air terrace on the top floor, or the swanky top-floor restaurant. The food is gourmet and hard to beat!
