One of the best ways to go on a winter adventure in Switzerland is to book yourself a husky dog sledding tour. I have experienced real-life dog sledding and racing in the Yukon and can only recommend it.
The experience of swooshing through the snow surrounded by nothing but nature, while the huskies silently whisk you along is nothing short of breathtaking. And there are lots of dog sledding options in Switzerland if you know where to look.
So, I hunted far and wide to find as many dog sledding options as I could. Here is what i found…

Table of Contents
Huskystuff (St Johann & Flumserberg)
Switzerland’s largest provider of sled dog tours is located close to Zurich, in the beautiful eastern part of Switzerland. Huskystuff offers a variety different tours, from half a day tour up to a full-week tour, with overnight stays in Swiss mountain huts.
Flumserberg
The easiest and shortest tour is at Flumserberg with Hsukystuff. If you’re a beginner, I suggest you start with this half-day tour. It sounds like nothing, but dog sledding requires a bit of exercise and after a few hours, you might just want a break.
As usual, you will have plenty of time to spend with the dogs before and after your trip. Lots of time to cuddle, cuddle and cuddle some more, because that’s what they really love to do, apart from running. I can assure you, you will have a very hard time to say goodbye!
Tours Available
- Half Day Tour (Flumserberg)

Rough Trails (Near Interlaken)
If you are looking for dog sledding near Interlaken or Grindelwald then this is the closest option I could find. The team from Rough Trails is located above the North West corner of Lake Thun, on the way back to Bern.
Their half-day tours from Sparenmoos are for everyone, with or without experience. You will get ample time with the dogs while you’re getting ready for a unique sledding trip. The mushers will also give you a lot of information about the dogs and the mushing and will make sure you have a safe and unforgettable trip! According to their website they are also working on trips near Engstlenalp and Niderhorn, although these are for the more sporty and adventurous amongst us.
I suggest you get in contact with them to check when the tours are on (mostly in January and February, depending on the snow conditions).

Team Nature/North Wolf – Geneva Region
A lot of people are looking for a husky dog sledding experience near Geneva, and the team in St-Cergue can help. Just an hour by train, or 40 minutes by car, and you are right in the middle of the Jura and ready to rock with a great team of huskies. They offer options for both summer and winter, which is great in these times of global warming when snow is no longer assured. Give them a call and see what the options are for, but book way ahead as they seem to be often booked out.
