The Eiger Express cable car is one of the best and fastest cable cars from the Grindelwald terminal to the Eigergletscher station in the Grindewald Wegen ski area. It was opened in late 2020 after much delay and allows for a faster journey up to the Jungfraujoch and to the ski slopes as well.

The Eiger Express departs from Grindelwald Terminal in Grindelwald and takes you straight up to the Eigergletscher train station in the fastest time possible.

How do you reach the Eiger Express?

To reach the Eiger Express by train, catch a train from Interlaken Ost to the Grindelwald Terminal station. Then follow the signs to the cable car which takes you via the undercover walkway to the bottom gondola station.

By Train

The train ride from Interlaken takes approximately 30 minutes and from there, it is less than five minutes to walk to the cable car.

By Car

If you are driving to Grindelwald you can park at the Terminal building, or the next best option is Grindelwald Grund. If they are both full, take whatever you can get because everything is within walking distance in Grindelwald.

On Foot

Grindelwald Terminal is easily reached from just about anywhere in Grindelwald, you can just use Google Maps to find your route.
