The FIFA museum has been created by the world football’s governing body to help collect and display the history of the world’s favorite sport. From the huge diversity of teams all around the world to over 100 years of world cup tournaments.
It is all on display at the FIFA museum in the heart of Zurich, including the much sort after FIFA World cup trophy! So, if you are one of the many football fans who loves everything about the game, then this is the best museum in Zurich for you.
FIFA also has its headquarters in Zurich, however, you are unable to see much of it, so the museum is ideal for anyone who really wants to enjoy FIFA’s unique position in Switzerland.

Getting There
Given that the FIFA Museum is right in the heart of Zurich, it is quite easy to reach. You can take any tram or train that takes you to Bahnhof Enge. The following are some examples of the options you have:
- Trains: S2, S8, S24
- Trams: 6, 7, 13
It takes approximately 10 minutes from Zurich HB to the FIFA museum including walking from the Enge train station.
By Car
If you come by car to the FIFA Museum it is easiest to take the ring road to the back of Zurich and exit at Zurich City (Exit 32) and then drive from there.
Parking is challenging in that part of the city. The closest parks are on the street, however, some people report that parking on Parking Mythenquai 21 along the lake is a good option. The FIFA Museum is 5 minute’s walk from there.
Highlights Of The Fifa Museum
There is so much to see, do and soak in during a trip to the FIFA museum. I am actually not sure I can convey in one short blog post what there is to see here. The collection is huge, varied, and a little mind-blowing. Let’s break it down into the various sections that FIFA has created through the museum’s different floors.
Planet Football

Perhaps the most visually impressive part of the FIFA museum is the Planet Football display as you enter the museum.
Want To Save This For Later?
The circular cabinet is a rainbow of jerseys from all 211 FIFA members from around the world. Walk along the display and see which of your favorite teams you can spot among the colors.
And, of course, look for Switzerland in red, since you are in Zurich after all. It’s in the red section, of course.

Foundations
The first stop on this floor is the Foundations area where you can see how FIFA was started, way back in 1904. On a simple piece of paper, they agreed on how the sport should proceed from that day forth. Of course, it was all quite small and not so well known back then, but you can see how it grew from then until today.
World Cup Gallery

This is a huge part of the FIFA world football museum, on the other side of the floor from the Foundations. It is a representation of all FIFA world cup tournaments since 1930. There are some fantastic images as well as unique items from each world cup on display, bringing history and football together in one place. If you have seen any of the past world cups, this will bring back memories for sure!
And I found it amazing the kinds of things that are collected and on display around the floor. From different referee whistles, medals, photos, various shoes and jerseys, even stadium seats, and a whole lot more.

At the center of the World Cup Gallery is the FIFA world cup trophy itself, which is of course coveted by every footballer and football fan around the world. And you can see it up close and personal right here in the museum.
After you check out the trophy, you can head to the cinema to watch the short film about – yes, you guessed it, football. This time, you get to witness some of the greatest scenes from FIFA world cup history on a huge, 180-degree screen, complete with surround sound. Enjoy!
Fields of Play

The last part of the FIFA museum is dedicated to playing football, in one way or another. There are games on display, from different periods of time. A fussball table to play on as well.
Then there are lots of different ways to play football in the museum, from different areas like Pinball and The Lab. So, if you are handy with a football, this is the area to show off to your kids.

The FIFA Museum Shop

If you are tired after playing in the last part of the museum, you can stop for a drink or snack in the FIFA shop. They also have lots of souvenirs to take home and remember your visit.
