I know a lot of you are struggling to find great accommodation for your summer in Interlaken.
So, I decided to see what was still available and has good ratings too.
A mix of 3-5 star hotels that I think are well worth the price.
Keep in mind if you are coming in July and August, prices are sky high. So set your expectations accordingly.
I have split these up by the main towns.
Interlaken
Interlaken is extremely central and offers all the top amenities you would expect from a small Swiss city in the Alps.
Hotels
Hotel du Nord – 4-Star
This historic hotel is close to Interlaken’s main train station (Interlaken Ost) and offers all the facilities you would expect. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is great, and they offer free parking.
Not many rooms left, so grab this one fast
Boutique Hotel Bellevue – 4-Star
Beautifully located on the Aare River near the Interlaken West train station (which still gives good access to the mountains via Interlaken Ost), this 4-star hotel has everything you need. With helpful staff, great views of the river and proximity to shops, this hotel is a gem.
Hotel Merkur – West Station – 3-Star
The modern Hotel Merkur is all about function and location. The facilities are top-notch yet affordable, and the proximity to the shops and train make it a great place to start your journey every day with convenience.
Hotel Chalet Swiss – 3-Star
A stunning, rustic Swiss chalet in the old part of Interlaken. Although it is not as close to the station, it is still walking distance and conveniently located. This is a great option if you want a touch of Swiss rustic during your stay!
Victoria Jungfrau Grand – 5-Star
My partner stayed here last week for her work and said it was mind-blowing. The rooms are enormous and plush they have an on-site spa complex, attentive staff, and a surprisingly affordable restaurant. It is a true wonder in the heart of Interlaken.
Oh, and the views from the front rooms are to die for! (she told me)
Yes, this is a super-expensive hotel, but if you can afford only a night here, you will remember it forever!
Post Hardermannli – 2-Star
For those on a budget, this rustic Swiss hotel is another convenient option in the older part of town. Guests say it is better than its 2-star rating, so don’t be put off by it. Take a look and see what you think!

Grindelwald
Grindelwald has as many beds as Interlaken, almost, and is right in the middle of the mountains. So, if you are happy to trade a little less facitilies and some extra travel time for a stunning location, this is the spot for you!
Sunstar Hotel & SPA Grindelwald – 4-Star
Sunstar Hotel & SPA Grindelwald offers a peaceful yet central stay with stunning panoramic views of the Eiger and Wetterhorn, located opposite the First cable cars. Guests can enjoy spacious, light-wood furnished rooms, some with balconies, along with a diverse buffet featuring starters, salads, soups, main courses, desserts, and cheese.
Hotel Grindelwalderhof – 3-Star
Located in the heart of Grindelwald, just five minutes from the train station, this 3-star hotel offers easy access to the gondola, ski school, and village center. Decorated in a traditional Swiss style, it provides a cozy atmosphere with a buffet breakfast, a sauna, a scenic terrace, and convenient amenities like a bus stop at the entrance and a supermarket in the same building.
Hotel Bernerhof – 3-Star
Located in the center of town, the Bernerhof offers stunning Eiger Mountain views and easy access to cable cars, railways, and ski lifts. With a cozy Alpine atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and a rich breakfast, it’s an ideal choice for both summer stays in Grindelwald.

Lauterbrunnen
Accommodation in Lauterbrunnen is harder to come by and often less than 4-stars. But if you want a quiet location, in the heart of the Alps, there is a lot going for the town.
Hotel Silberhorn – 3-Stars
Silberhorn Hotel in Lauterbrunnen offers a peaceful stay just 492 feet from the train station, with free parking and WiFi. Guests can enjoy breathtaking alpine views from the winter garden and sun terrace, cozy rooms with wooden furnishings, and delicious Swiss specialties, including wood-fired pizza, at the on-site restaurant.
Apartment Vreneli
Apartment Vreneli in Lauterbrunnen offers a cozy stay with mountain views, a fully equipped kitchen, and free WiFi. Guests enjoy ski-to-door access, a garden, and a convenient location near Staubbach Falls and other local attractions.
Hotel Oberland – 2-Stars
The historic and family-run Hotel Oberland in central Lauterbrunnen is just a 5-minute walk from the train station and close to the Staubbach waterfall. Guests can enjoy cozy rooms, many with balconies and mountain views, as well as Swiss specialties like cheese fondue and Röstis at the on-site restaurant.
Wengen
Wengen sits in a jaw-dropping location just 10 minutes above Lauterbrunnen. This car-free village (yes, there are still a few electric cars – but it is basically pedestrian) is a pleasure to stay in, and has views to die for.
Hotel Maya Caprice – 4-Stars
Hotel Maya Caprice in car-free Wengen offers an elegant chalet-style stay just 656 feet from the Männlichen Cable Car, featuring Swiss cuisine, a sauna, and free WiFi. Guests enjoy spacious rooms with natural wooden décor, many with south-facing balconies overlooking the Jungfrau Massif, as well as a restaurant with mountain views, an après-ski bar, and easy access to ski slopes and hiking trails.
Braunbär Hotel & Spa – 4-Stars

Hotel Alpenruhe – Vintage Design Hotel – 3-Stars
Hotel Alpenruhe – Vintage Design Hotel is in a peaceful spot with panoramic mountain and valley views, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and Männlichen Cable Car. Guests enjoy free WiFi, balcony rooms, complimentary luggage transfer, and free ski boot storage near the cable car.
Beausite Park Hotel & Spa – 4-Stars
Beausite Park Hotel & Spa is a sunny retreat at the foothills of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains, offering stunning views, fine dining, and excellent spa facilities. Located near the Wengen-Männlichen cable car, the hotel features spacious rooms, a garden with a natural swimming pond, and a spa with massages and beauty treatments.
