Free parking is not an option in Grindelwald. In fact, street parking is not something you will find much of in Switzerland, and free parking is a rare beast indeed.

There are a variety of smaller parking lots scattered around town, which are not as large or convenient. However, if you want to check them out they are all listed here.
There are

- lots at Grindelwald Camping
- 44 at Grabenstrasse parking
Just to name a few.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your post, it is really helpful. I wish I could get some advice from you – I will have one day to explore some hiking options from Interlaken: Hiking from Lombachalp to Augstmatthorm ; or around Mannlichen ; or around Grindelwald. Which one does not need cable? I prefer drive there, then park, then hike within around 4 hours.
Thanks in advance! And yes, this is my first time in Switzerland.
Best Regards, Raye
