The Saastal Card is an amazing travel pass for visitors to Saas Fee and the local area! It provides free travel on the majority of mountain transport and post buses in the valley.
All you have to do is book at least one night in the Saas Fee area then you can start benefiting from the Saastal Card the moment you arrive.
I have used this pass on a few visits to Saas Fee and can’t begin to explain how great it is. Normally, in other mountain resorts, you pay a lot of money to use the transport. Especially the gondolas and cable cars. Sure, some have discounts like with the Zermatt Peak Pass, but they are not free. Saastal Card Benefits
Below are all the benefits of using the Saastal Card during your visit to Saas Free.
Gondolas & Cable Cars
The Saastal Card provides you with free rides on all of the following nine gondolas and cable cars:
- Alpin Express I & II
- Felskinn
- Hannig
- Spielboden
- Längfluh
- Kreuzboden
- Hohsaas
- Furggstalden
- Heidbodmen
The only cable car that is not included is the ride from Felskinn to Mittelallalin, which takes you to the Ice Pavillion. Saas Fee calls this the Metro Plus Ticket, which you can get for 45 CHF instead of 56 CHF.
Post Buses
You can also use all of the post buses in the valley, up to a certain point. For example,

However, your arrival and departure from your accommodation are not included with the Post Bus using the Saastal Card. It is only valid during your stay.

How to Get Your Saastal Card
You will receive your Saastal Card by email or you can request to have it printed by your accommodation.

No, you can only get a Saastal Card from your accommodation, so you must stay at least one night in Saas Fee or the surroundings.
