Then Came The Bill

But upon returning home, Rene faced an unexpected twist that was anything but a fond memory of his trip—a staggering $143,442 phone bill from T-Mobile! It seemed the price tag on his collection of Swiss memories was a bit higher than anticipated.

Rene says that he visited a T-Mobile store to advise them of his travel plans. He’s also been a T-Mobile customer for nearly 30 years.

“They said you’re covered. Whatever that meant. You’re covered,” Rene said.

What To Do Instead?

If you are heading to Switzerland, from the USA or even from Europe, you may not be covered for data!

  1. Check with your mobile carrier to see if you are covered
  2. Consider adding a roaming plan for Switzerland
  3. OR even better, consider an ESIM with data which can be way cheaper!
