Buckle up, adventure junkies and attraction seekers, Switzerland just dropped the mic on “boring vacations.”
You may have heard of the Jungfraujoch or Lucerne, but have you heard of these unique and mind-blowing attractions that will make your friends jealous?
1. Trümmelbach Falls: The Mountain That Roars
Trümmelbach Falls are hard to describe, but here goes: Imagine 10 waterfalls INSIDE a mountain, thundering 20,000 liters per second like Thor’s personal shower. Elevator + neon-lit tunnels = Narnia meets Jurassic Park.
Pro move: Go at 8 AM. You’ll have the caves to yourself for exactly 17 minutes before the tour buses invade.
2. Stanserhorn Cabrio: The World’s Only Roofless Cable Car

The Stanserhorn Cabrio double-decker cable car with a balcony on top will leave you with wind in your hair at 1,900 m. Imagine zooming downhill on a rollercoaster, only this one is bigger than a bus!
Pro Tip: Line up early to get a balcony position as there are limited spots on top!
3. Lac Souterrain de Saint-Léonard: Europe’s Creepiest Boat Ride

Row through an underground lake in total darkness (or with the funky lights turned on). Trout swim above your head. Whisper “boo”—the echo travels 200 m. More info here.
4. HR Giger Bar: Alien Ribcage Cocktails in Gruyères

Step into a biomechanical cathedral, the ceiling looks like xenomorph ribs. Sip absinthe under glowing eggs.
This is the home of “Alien” from the creator of the creepy aliens in the movie! Swiss artist, H.R. Giger.
5. Lindt Home of Chocolate: Liquid Gold from a Tap
World’s tallest chocolate fountain (9 m) will blow your mind as you enter this stunning building and explore (visually, and with your taste buds) the home of one of the world’s most famous chocolate companies!
Souvenir: Stock up in the world’s largest Lindt store where they have – literally everything!
6. Brienzer Rothorn Dampfbahn: 120-Year-Old Steam Dragon

Why not experience Switzerland’s one and only coal-fired steam train chugging up the Brienzer Rothorn, at 2,350 m . Soot in your hair = badge of honor. And the views of the insanely blue lake below (the above is NOT photoshopped) are to die for!
7. Sasso San Gottardo: Switzerland’s Doomsday Bunker

Want To Save This For Later?
Switzerland has thousands and thousands of bunkers, but this one takes the cake!
Explore these 17 km of secret WWII tunnels inside a mountain. Or ride a military funicular to a gold vault and nuclear shelter. It’s all possible in Sasso San Gotthardo!
8. Schilthorn Piz Gloria: Bond Villain Brunch at 3,000 m

Experience the rotating restaurant from 007: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. You get 360° Alps while you eat! And it makes for an epic day out in Lauterbrunnen (see my complete guide)!
9. Walk Across Switzerland’s Highest Suspension Bridge

An easy day trip from Lucerne takes you to the top of Mt Titlis. And to “top” it all off, you can test your fear of heights at Switzerland’s highest suspension bridge, hanging between two peaks!
You also get to ride one of the most unique gondolas – the Rotair gondola, which does a 360 while you ascend to the top!
